Low Rain Scenario

Uses the Forecast Rain rate (mm/hr) and progressively sums the total across each 3 hour forecast step out to ten days. All dates and times are shown in local time. Click the image to open and then click ‘Play Video’ to loop through the images. This forecast uses GFS rain rate data. It’s sampled from the last 7 GFS runs (00Z or 12Z) and is terrain ‘corrected’ using a more detailed Digital Elevation model than the base terrain model used by GFS. For the low rain scenario, the lowest 3 rain rates for any given grid cell are used and summed to give the high cumulative rain scenario. The data is also interpolated into a finer grid.
